Will pride kick in?
Friday, Nov. 21, 2008
For years, Tennessee has entered the last two games of its regular season trying to avoid an upset. This year - and at least this week - the Vols are living on the other side. When Saturday's game at Vanderbilt kicks off, the Vols will be underdogs to their in-state rival for the first time since the 1980s. And a Vanderbilt win would guarantee Tennessee's worst record since it began playing football in the 1890s. Despite finding itself in foreign territory, Tennessee receiver Josh Briscoe says the Vols have plenty left to play for in their final two games. Full story »

Hamilton says search could end 'sometime early to mid-December'
Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008
In some rare public comments concerning Tennessee’s search for a new football coach, UT athletic director Mike Hamilton said the search process should conclude within a month.
“I think it’s reasonable to expect that sometime early to mid-December,” Hamilton said when asked about his timeline on WNOX’s Hallerin Hilton Hill radio show on Wednesday morning. “But I don’t want to put a date on it because as surely as you put a date on it, then if you don’t have a contract nailed down by that point then people assume you’re not getting your guy.” Full story »
