Lisa Duncan joined the News Sentinel in 1984. Before joining the News Sentinel, she held positions in the publishing industry beginning in 1979. She is on the KACP and Dogwood Arts Festival Board of Directors, United Way Marketing Committee, Advisory Board of Project Safe Place and past vice president of Knoxville Advertising Federation and past chairman of Publicity Committee of the Governor's Metropolitan Drug Commission Alliance. She is a member of the American Marketing Association, Newspaper Association of America and International Newspaper Marketing Association. Duncan has received the Knoxville Advertising Federation President's Award and Scripps Howard Total Quality Award. Under her leadership, the News Sentinel marketing team has won numerous Addy Awards. Duncan is a 1982 graduate of the University of Tennessee where she received a bachelor’s degree in marketing. She and her husband, Dan, have three children: Perry, Megan and Kathryn.
